MHSP Fee Reduction

The 2020 Vision Capital Campaign successfully financed and ushered in the new kit delivery system which has enabled us to screen over 35,000 children in adults in only six months! Additional digital photo screener kits to be implemented this year will ensure faster and more efficient sight and hearing screening. We want to help your club provide screenings in your community.

Your Foundation now provides Lions Clubs a new—and lower—fee structure for kit based school AND community events when sponsored by your Lions Club. To take advantage of these lower rates, your club must commit to recruiting community volunteers, promoting your events, and helping us evaluate the program by completing a brief survey.

•  Kit based school/community events sponsored by a club:

o  $100 for event day one

o  $50 for each consecutive event day

•  Truck based community events sponsored by a club:

o  $150 for event day one

o  $100 for each consecutive event day

April at LVG

On Monday and Tuesday of next week, April 8th & 9th we will have guests from Minnesota Lions Eye Bank with us.  Peter Bedard and Veronique Grimes will be spending almost all of their time in the lab learning to prepare tissue for Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK),

On Thursday, April 11th our Moria Inc. rep, Chris McGriff will be here for what will be the start of a procedure validation Moria has hired us to complete for them.  The rest of the validation will likely take place before the end of April and will last several days.

The following week will see visitors from Alabama Eye Bank at LVG.  Alabama’s Chief Technical Officer, Alan Blake, and two of their processing staff will be visiting April 15th through the first half of April 17th.  The purpose of their visit will be to learn DMEK tissue preparation as well as the peripherals associated with the procedure like process validations, SOP’s, etc.
