The Eugene Downtown Lions Club’s second annual “Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus” was held Saturday December 12th from 8:30 AM until 12:00 PM at St. Thomas Episcopal Fellowship Hall, 1465 Coburg, Road, Eugene. The cost was $5 for kids and $7 for adults. For breakfast pancakes, sausage, eggs, cocoa, & coffee were served. Holiday breads, candy, and cookies as well as handcrafted jewelry and holiday wreaths were also for sale. Two kids bikes were raffled off. This year’s breakfast was planned ahead right down to the last detail primarily by Lions Twila Butler and Judith Grosenick. The only thing they had no control over was the weather. An early morning ice storm was to blame for a lesser than exciting number of breakfast guests, but that didn’t stop the intrepid Lions from making it a fun event. Preliminary amount raised was $1,500. The fundraiser helps support the Lions Club’s community projects.
