As president of the Eugene Downtown Lions Club, I welcome you to view our website and learn more about our group of active men and women who dedicate themselves to living up to the Lions’ motto: “we serve.”
We serve in a variety of ways to make our city, state, and country a better place for all, and, as members of the world’s largest service club, we also strive to bring the services of the Lions Club International to the entire world.
Whether you are new to Eugene or a longer term resident, please consider joining us. We meet every Wednesday at 12:00 noon at the Eugene Hilton downtown on Seventh Street for a luncheon and program. Men and women of all ages are welcome, and we have service projects to fit a variety of interests and talents.
Like Lions everywhere, we are active in providing vision and hearing services to those who cannot afford them. We also have an active Community Service committee which acts on applications from local groups and organizations for financial assistance.
To benefit the environment, the club helps maintain a local park and is involved in habitat restoration at the Delta Ponds. To help the hungry, Lions work at Food for Lane County’s “Food Rescue” program each month and assist in the Meals on Wheels program. We help sponsor a guest house at Peace Health Hospital.
To support all our charitable work, we sponsor several fund-raising events, such as our annual car raffle, and a pancake breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Santa.
